POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden Education & Research Department seeks an
energetic, creative individual to help execute a grant-supported
study. The objective of the study will be to determine the costs and
feasibility of applying existing barcode/scanner technology to educate
visitors, analyze visitor flow patterns, and maintain collection
records within a botanical garden. The Project Assistant will gather
data and synthesize reports on the available technology. The
successful applicant will demonstrate computer literacy, ability to
maintain an accurate file of information received, good personal and
interviewing skills, adaptability in the face of new technology, the
ability to work without direct supervision, and a desire to be part of
the DSBG team.
The Project Assistant will:

on previous or ongoing attempts to make computerized collection
information available to the public at other institutions.
